This event, themed "In-Depth Experience of Taiwanese Culture and Local Customs," carefully combines indigenous culture, historical districts, culinary arts and crafts, and city sightseeing. Through visits, interactive activities, and hands-on experiences, participants will be guided to deeply appreciate Taiwan's rich cultural characteristics and unique charm.

The itinerary will visit important cultural sites in Taoyuan and Taipei, including experiences of Atayal tribal culture, a historical tour of Daxi Old Street, and exploration of traditional pastry culture. It will also include multicultural guided tours, DIY workshops, food tastings, and local exchange activities. Participants will not only appreciate Taiwan's natural and historical landscapes, but also experience the passion, creativity, and warmth of Taiwan's diverse culture through hands-on interaction.

【2026 AHS Taiwan Cultural Discovery Trip】

In Spring 2026, AHS will lead students on an in-depth learning journey combining natural scenery, cultural exploration, hands-on experiences, and Taiwanese culture! From Taipei's iconic landmarks and the unique rock formations of the North Coast to the mountain culture of Miaoli, Lukang Old Town, and Alishan tea plantations, students will experience the diverse and captivating charm of Taiwan's culture in the most authentic way.

This trip will include visits to Taipei 101, Maokong Gondola, Beitou Hot Spring Museum, Yehliu Geopark, and Lukang Old Street, exploring Taiwan's unique blend of modern urban life, historical culture, and natural landscapes. The itinerary also includes cultural experiences at Baishatun Gongtian Temple, intertidal zone ecological exploration, and an indigenous cultural park, providing a deeper understanding of Taiwan's most representative folk beliefs and local characteristics.

The trip features a variety of immersive interactive activities, including indigo dyeing DIY, wood carving and painting, railway cycling, a jade washing experience, archery, and a tea plantation tour. These activities allow students to experience more than just a trip; they can deeply immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture and life through hands-on participation.

In Spring 2026, The Meadows School will embark on an in-depth Taiwan trip combining international exchange, cultural exploration, technological learning, and nature experiences! Through campus exchanges, volunteer service, city exploration, and local cultural experiences, students will discover Taiwan's cultural charm and international perspective in the most authentic and diverse ways.

This trip will take participants to classic Taiwanese landmarks such as Taipei 101, the National Palace Museum, Jiufen Old Street, Sun Moon Lake, and Alishan, allowing them to experience Taiwan's unique blend of modern urban life, historical culture, and natural landscapes. The itinerary also includes an exchange program with Kang Chiao International School, volunteer service at Dayuan Elementary School, and a visit to TSMC, providing an in-depth experience of Taiwan's educational culture and world-class technology industry development.

The trip features a variety of immersive cultural and ecological experiences, including sky lantern blessings at Shifen, exploration of indigenous culture, oyster harvesting in the intertidal zone, unique DIY craft activities, and a mountain eco-tour, allowing students to deeply experience Taiwan's rich cultural heritage and natural vitality through hands-on participation.

Beyond cultural and academic exchange, participants will savor some of Taiwan's most representative culinary delights, including Din Tai Fung, night market snacks, local specialties, and mountain town cuisine. During the 2026 Lunar New Year, SHS will lead students on an in-depth exploration of Taiwan, combining "culture, experiences, food, and humanities"! From the bustling Dihua Street Lunar New Year market, Taipei 101, and Nanmen Market, to Miaoli Hakka culture, strawberry picking, and oil-paper umbrella painting, the journey continues south to Chiayi tea plantations, Taiping Ladder, and Tainan Old City, allowing students to personally experience the most representative festive atmosphere and local charm of Taiwan.

This itinerary features several immersive cultural experiences, including making mochi and glutinous rice balls, a New Year's Eve reunion dinner, a tea ceremony, Hakka craft DIY, and a Lunar New Year lantern festival tour, allowing students to not only "travel" but also gain a deeper understanding of Taiwanese culture and human warmth.

Beyond the exciting sights and unique activities, the journey will also allow you to savor classic Taiwanese flavors such as Din Tai Fung, local snacks and stir-fries, Hakka cuisine, and Tainan's national banquet delicacies.
