On July 29, 2018, we held the World Earth Day event at the square on the first floor of Guangnan Building. In addition to introducing the Global Contribution (Co-) Learning Association's profit concept to everyone, we also promoted the theme of the 2018 World Earth Day - Plastic-free Life!
This event not only raised the environmental awareness of the Zhongli residents, but also allowed the participating volunteers to learn many things that they would not normally be able to experience.

Before the event started, I naively thought that I only needed to prepare the information well to complete this easy task. However, when I actually started, the cruel reality completely changed my stupid idea. Because no matter how well prepared I was, I still felt nervous when talking to strangers. When the event ended, I realized that it not only made us aware of the importance of environmental protection, but also made me, an ignorant person, realize my lack of expression skills!
Zheng Fuxin
Through this activity, I learned a lot of valuable experience. I thought that I just needed to practice how to speak before the activity. At the beginning, I was very confident that I could complete this activity by stopping a few passers-by and explaining it. But when the activity started, I found out that I was wrong. I saw passers-by walking by one by one, but I didn’t take any action. When I mustered up my courage, most of the passers-by rejected me again and again, but there were still a few people who listened to me finish my words. From this experience, I realized that my own ability was seriously insufficient. I am very grateful to Global Learning for providing this opportunity for me to experience a volunteer experience different from the past. I am also very grateful to all the staff for completing this meaningful event.

Before I joined this event, I thought the task was easy, but when I actually joined, I found it was very challenging. In addition to overcoming the fear of talking to strangers, it was even more difficult to clearly convey the ideas we wanted to the public in just a few minutes and make them feel recognized. This event was not as smooth as I had imagined, because it was really frustrating to be rejected or looked at strangely. However, through this process, I gradually developed the courage to face setbacks, and I also realized how much my own abilities were inadequate without the help of my parents and teachers. Thanks to this event, I was able to re-examine myself and enhance my ability to cope with difficulties and setbacks in the future.

Through this volunteer activity, I have experienced many things I have never experienced before. At first, I thought that as long as I practiced how to explain it, I could easily complete this activity. As a result, when I really did it, I found that there were not many people willing to stop and listen to our explanation. Most people rejected us. The few people who stopped asked me if I really wanted to do this volunteer work or just to earn volunteer hours. I realized that now the society's idea of volunteering is only a channel for students to earn volunteer hours. The feeling of being rejected is very frustrating, but if we don't stand up and do this today, the environmental protection problems in the world will only get worse. In addition, thank you to all the staff who participated that day and behind the scenes, so that we can complete this very meaningful activity together.

This is a great activity. It not only gives us the opportunity to train our speech and convey our ideas to others, but also gives us the opportunity to do our part for the blue planet and the environment of our next generation of children. At first, everyone was very shy and didn't dare to talk to others. We were often rejected after talking to others, but everyone gradually got into the situation. Many people were willing to stop their busy steps and listen to our explanations and participate in the plastic reduction activities with us, even though our explanations were still far from mature. Even though we may be just a drop of water and cannot irrigate the vast soil, I hope we can stir up more ripples to join us, and eventually the calm water surface will be full of responsive ripples. Finally, I would like to thank all the people who planned this meaningful event. Thank you for your efforts and energy. It is great to have you. Let us work together for this seriously ill blue planet.

This volunteer activity really taught me a lot. At the beginning, we all thought that publicity was a very simple thing, but in fact it was not as good as we imagined. We were constantly rejected during the process, and some people even asked us if we really wanted to do this volunteer activity. In my opinion, the four words "volunteer service" have become a tool for children to earn hours in the minds of the public. This made me understand one of the original intentions of the establishment of the Global Co-contribution Volunteer. Every time I met those people handing out flyers on the way to and from school, I think when I refused them, it was the same feeling as when I was rejected when I was doing volunteer work that day. Finally, thank you to the staff who silently planned everything behind the scenes this time, and thank you to the passers-by who are willing to listen to our explanation. Protecting the environment starts with you and me!

At first, our promotions were rejected frequently. Some people thought we were selling love pens, but others were willing to give us time and listen carefully to our promotional content. At first, I felt frustrated like other companions. The taste of continuous rejection was the first taste, but it was also impressive. Because in this process, we learned how to communicate with others, how to tell others about this important concept in a very short time, and how to accept rejection. Nothing is gained without hard work, just like our work on environmental protection. Without everyone's recognition and everyone's efforts, all this is just empty talk.
